Khalil El-Khatib, Assistant Professor

Dr. Khalil El-Khatib was an assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario prior to joining theFaculty of Business and Information Technology, University of Ontario Instituteof Technology, in July 2006. He received a bachelor degree in computer sciencefrom the American Universityof Beirut (AUB) in 1992, a master degree in computer science from McGill University in 96, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Ottawa in 2005. Between the years of1992 and 1994, he worked as a research assistant in the computer science Dept.at AUB. In 1996, he joined the High Capacity Division at Nortel Networks as asoftware designer. From Feb. 2002, he worked of Research Officer in theNetwork Computing Group (lately renamed the Information Security Group) at theNational Research Council of Canada for two years, and continued to beaffiliated with the group for another two years
Dr. Khalil's research interests include Parallel Discrete Event Simulation, QoS for multimedia applications, personaland service mobility, IP telephony, feature interaction for VoIP, ubiquitous computing environments, security and privacy issues for the Internet and forthe mobile wireless ad hoc networks (MANET).
