General Information

The inaugural Symposium on Interdisciplinary Modeling for Improved Patient-Centric Care aims to bring together multi-disciplinary health care providers in an innovative and highly interactive information exchange environment for the purposes of reviewing the latest healthcare transformation research, sharing experiences in health service redesign, development of future research funding opportunities and forming ongoing quality improvement partnerships. Specifically the Symposium will highlight how patient journey modeling can play a significant role in the identification of health services improvements and assist in the development of new/enhanced evidence-based policies and guidelines.

Symposium Objectives

The objectives of the Symposium are to:

  • Inform participants on current and emerging health service redesign research directions
  • Transfer knowledge through the sharing of real life patient journey modeling experiences from local and international projects
  • Provide health service specific opportunities to discuss current health service issues (i.e.: mental health, maternity, renal, oncology, emergency care), brainstorm potential solutions and develop cross-organisational quality improvement circles
  • Transfer knowledge through facilitated hands-on workshops on the patient journey modeling process and application to participant provided cases
  • Explore future research partnerships and grant application opportunities with participating attendees
